………….The Jeff Fisher Show…
Everyone wants to know why the Jeff Fisher show is now on Friday’s as opposed to where it has been the last 8 years, on Monday night.
Here is the deal…..We were all set to go on Monday night again. The job that John Dwyer did wth Coach Fisher was second to none, seeing all of the awards they had won for the show. So the new crew was all set to step right in to some very big shoes but then ESPN gets Monday night Football because ABC had dropped it. We couldn’t compete against Monday Night Football cause it was starting at 6 and there is some rule that we can’t do the show while Pro Football is going on.
Our next alternative was Tuesday night at 7. But ABC wouldn’t let us pre-empt Dancing With The Stars which is a huge show and a huge ratings coup for ABC. Then we had to work with the coaches schedule and we will tape the show and show it on Friday nights at 7.
Coach Fisher and Chris Stout will be in the studio in a pretty cool virtual set. Joe Dubin will be downtown at Buffalo Billiards with a player from the Titans, a high school team of the week and their band and parents and a ton of people.
Believe us, we know people will be at high school games, in fact we will be out covering about a dozen high school teams so we know what you are talking about. It was and is, not our call to do this. We have to take the slots where we can get them.
So if you have TiVo or DVR, set it to the show and watch it when you get home. I promise you, it will be very good……
Thanks..

When does the show tape at Buffalo Billards? Can the general public go or do you need tickets? If you need tickets, do blog readers get preference???

Hey guys…are you taping on Tuesday night? Live audience? Can fans show up?
Yes, you have big shoes to fill, but you guys will do great! Keep the faith!

The network has you guys screwed over, unfortunately. With MNF, the Coach’s Show was a great lead-in to the game. On Friday, it’s a great lead-in to… um… well, no one that cares will be watching since they will be at the high school football games. The scheduling and the network have managed to mess you guys up. The ratings will be sub-par - at best. This is unfortunate…

The thing that concerns me is that it may turn out to be “old news” rehashed on Friday. It isn’t your fault, but it’s going to put you guys in an unfortunate position. Good luck.

This is a good point. Make that a great point. Record it a few days in advance… then something BIG happens with the Titans, in camp or whatever. This will put the show at a major, and pointless, disadvantage. Will there be a backup in case the show is unable to air? Or, will the show be re-recorded in case something “big” happens in the days leading up to it?

The show will be taped on Thursday nights both in the studio and at Buffalo Billiards. I’ll have to get back to you on whether the public will be allowed at Buffalo Billiards, but I’m pretty sure that will happen. Tune in for further details.

Thanks, Nathan…taping it on Thursday is much better than I thought it would be…it won’t be such an old news rehash if it’s just the day before. I’m sure if there is something astronomical that happens, you guys could do a live cut-in on Friday…right?
Oh, and I also second JB’s idea of getting us blog readers preferential treatment.

I am also a Dolphins fan, and I want to say we were ROBBED! What a horrific ref!!! Game went downhill after that…it psyched them out. Oh the humanity!
This is Katie Couric and that SUCKED THE BIG ONE!!!
*goes over to the dumba$$ referee and WHACKS him on the head with her shoe*

After watching Sunday’s game I think - I got 7 more games of this to watch at LP Field? I’m paying good money for this. This has to be the worst team they ever put together. I would start at the top and start firing people. Jeff needs to be fired and his coaching staff replaced. Great choice in Collins - gezzz -Billy couldn’t be worse than this guy.

Excellent post — I couldn’t agree more. Though I still love my Titans, the coaches and front office have made complete fools of themselves and made OUR team the laughing stock of the NFL.

Fisher better get ready to answer a lot of questions about the Collins/Volek “debate.”
The common question will probably be… “Why did you start the QB that’s only been on the team for 10 days instead of the one that’s been with the team for over a month..?”

The Miami game was much improved, even in that wind. The defense was great and I don’t blame Kerry Collins for the loss…. I blame the rookie foul on special teams with block in the back that erased Pacman’s return to the goal line. Coach, just what do you do to get these guys on the same page? I sure would hate to be an NFL coach, and I am a forever Titan fan, and I am hopeful the team will turn it around and get some wins. Good luck and I hope injuries are not too serious. Jean

I just wish someone asks Jeff, that it is obvious that all teams will stack the box, and what can he do to overcome this problem. I hope he does not say, we got to run the ball more!

The Titans Franchise promotes Ticketexchange as “Safe. Legitimate. Titans- Approved”.
What is Legitimate about the Titans approving of season ticket holders advertising on the Titans website of an outrageous markup of a Titan’s ticket. This is disrepectful to fans that would purchase a ticket at face vaule. Scalping in many states is illegal, however, this franchise supports and promotes selling tickets higher than face value. Does the NFL approve of this?
