This one HURTS! Ask the coach.
Missed tackles, missed field goals, and a blown call the perfect recipe for losing a 19 point lead. The Titans 27-26 loss to the Ravens will sting all week. Give the Ravens credit for coming back with 20 unanswered points. Playoff teams do things like that. So what do you think? Did the Titans blow this? Did the Ravens just flat beat them? Are the Titans headed in the right direction?
I think they are headed in the right direction. But after Sunday’s loss, not as fast as I thought they were.
………Don’t Blame Us…
In the sports office on Saturday, we took a ton of calls from disgruntled viewers complaining that we turned the ball game from Ohio State to another game. Then Saturday night, we got a ton of calls from viewers complaining that we turned the Wake Forest-FSU game off for the Texas-Kansas State game.
Let me say this, we do not control any of that. We were just as shocked, not to say surprised, that it happened. But we have nothing to do with that. That is a network call, either ABC or ESPn to switch the games. They do it when they feel one game is getting blown out to show another game in the country that is not such a wash. I am just surmising there but I have no idea.
So I apologize for the network doing that, but it was not our decision, not in our hands. And to the gentleman who cussed me up and down and then called back and cussed me up and down, chill my brother. I know you are upset but to almost threaten me and then cuss constantly, heck I was even turning red faced from your language and I couldn’t stop laughing once you hung up on me the second time. I know sometimes it is more than a game, but I hope you calmed down. The sun will come up tomorrow, we live in a great country, freedom to do whatever we want and life is a great thing. I feel a song coming on, perhaps that old Coke commercial.

Ask Coach Fisher
This is your chance to ask Titans Head Coach Fisher a question. Just post one on this blog and we’ll ask the coach for you Friday night on Titans on 2 with Jeff Fisher.
The Titans are in for a tough one Sunday. The Ravens are classic playoff contenders at 6-2. They are really good on defense allowing less than 3 yards a carry which is tops in the NFL. Throw in Steve McNair returning to Nashville and we’ve got a doozy Sunday at LP Field. McNair is a true pro saying only that the NFL is a business. That is in fact why he is in Baltimore. Business decision. The emotions will be high leading up to Sunday. But when the first kick sails those emotions will turn to your normal Sunday afternoon “thump the opponent” adrenaline.
ASK THE COACH JAGUARS 37 TITANS 7
Just when you thought the Tennessee Titans were about to turn the corner they basically ran into a brick wall down in Jacksonville. The Jaguars put on a clinic while the Titans looked every bit of a young football team. Vince Young had his worst day as a pro throwing 3 interceptions and avoided a shutout by throwing a late touchdown to Drew Bennett. The Titans wide receivers had numerous drops throughout the game, four in the first half, that could of kept drives alive. David Givens missed his fourth straight game.
The Titans defense had their hands full with David Garrard & the Jaguars running game. Garrard made his second straight start and didn’t disappoint throwing 3 touchdowns. The Jaguars picked on Andre Woolfolk, especially in the first quarter, who was in the starting line-up replacing a suspended Pac-Man Jones. This is going to be a long season and the Titans have a long way to go, let’s just hope it pay’s dividends for the future.
If you have a question for Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher just post your comment. The Titans will go back to the drawing board as they prepare for the return of Steve McNair & the Baltimore Ravens Sunday at LP Field.
3 TENNESSEE FOOTBALL PLAYERS ARRESTED
It’s not like Tennessee Head Coach Phillip Fulmer had enough on his mind after a heart breaking loss to LSU. Tennessee football players Arian Foster, David Holbert and Antonio Wardlow were arrested shortly after 3 o’clock this morning after police responded to a disturbance call at Goodfellas Pizza in Knoxville.
Foster and Holbert were charged with disorderly conduct and underage consumption. Wardlow was also charged with public intoxication. They were taken to the Knox County Detention Center and have since been released on bond.
Foster is the Vols’ starting tailback. Holbert, a former Brentwood Academy standout, is a reserve fullback. Wardlow is a backup safety who blocked a punt for a touchdown against Georgia.
The Vols running game will be hurting if Foster is suspended because Tennessee’s other two running backs are injured.
Game time has been set for this Saturday showdown against Arkansas. Kick-Off is at 6:00 p.m.

………Having a Good Time….
For those who don’t know, every Thursday night, we tape TITANS ON 2 WITH JEFF FISHER down at Buffalo Billiards on Second Ave. We tape delay it and it’s shown on Friday at 7. Each week we have a high school team of the week, two Titan cheerleaders and a Titan player.
Thursday night’s taping was one of the most fun shows we have done for several reasons. Smyrna High School was our team of the week and they brought a ton of people and were loud and proud. The cheerleaders were funny and insightful and were great guests. But the award for making the show goes to Keith Bulluck, the special player guest. Not because he was on tv, but what he did afterwards.
I asked Keith if he minded to stay around after the show and sign autographs and take pictures. Some players say yes, but you can tell they don’t want too. Not only did Keith say yes, but he took at least 50 pictures. Signed a ton of autographs, waited around until every single kid had a picture, had an autograph or something. One of the band members asked Keith if he would strap a big drum around and take a picture with the band. He took 8 pictures, one for each person on the drum corps.
All too often we get caught up talking about Pacman or something else that just rubs us the wrong away about professional athletes. Seeing how he went out of his way to say something to every single kid and take all of those pictures and sign all of those autographs was very refreshing.
For about 50 kids on Thursday night, their new favorite Titan, probably forever, will be number 53, Keith Bulluck.
Make sure and check out the show Friday night at 7 on good ole channel 2. And as always, if you want to ask Coach Fisher a question, just leave it on here. He answers 3 of them each week.
Pac-Man Out Against Jacksonville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Titans second-year cornerback Pacman Jones, whose legal problems have overshadowed his progress on the field, was suspended by coach Jeff Fisher on Wednesday for one game, and will not play in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fisher said after practice that Jones also will be fined what he called “significant financial … considerations.” Jones also faces potential punishment from the NFL for violating its personal conduct policy.
Fisher said Jones was very concerned and will make a statement later this week.
“This is the defining moment in his career,” Fisher said.
Fisher strongly hinted Monday that team-administered disciplinary action was likely forthcoming after Jones was cited over the weekend for a misdemeanor assault charge, stemming from allegations that he spit in the face of a female student from Tennessee State during a private party at a local nightclub early last Thursday morning.
Jones reported for practice Wednesday, but was told by Fisher to leave the building, and apprised of the suspension. Fisher announced the action following practice, saying that the sanction was the result not just of the latest incident involving Jones, but of “a continuing problem away from the field.”
The latest police problem for Jones, the Titans’ top draft pick in 2005 and the sixth choice overall, occurred before last week’s 28-22 victory over Houston in which he intercepted his first pass and returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown.
He wasn’t cited for misdemeanor assault until the day before the game, and Fisher, who called the incident “very disturbing,” took extra time to discuss how to punish Jones. Fisher already had suspended linebacker Robert Reynolds from last week’s game for a domestic violence incident.
Krystal Webb, 21, had Jones cited for an incident at a private party last Thursday at a nightclub. The police report states that Jones became verbally abusive and “spit a huge amount of mucus on Ms. Webb’s face and hair, which she preserved for evidence.”
Jones is scheduled to be booked Nov. 17 on the charge.
This is the second time Jones has been accused of spitting on a woman at a club this year. He was arrested at a Murfreesboro nightclub on misdemeanor charges of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct hours after the Titans broke camp, and Fisher did not play him in an exhibition.
He is due in court on Jan. 11 on those charges. Charges Jones faced from a July 2005 incident at a club were dismissed earlier this year.
