Titans Draft………What would you do?
Ok folks, the NFL Draft is this Saturday and nobody really knows what anybody is going to do.
What will Titans do? Will they trade up or down? Will they stay at 19? Will they take a WR or try to find a RB or Cornerback to replace Pacman Jones?
Here is your chance to play Mike Reinfieldt.
What would you do with the 19th overall pick?
I would trade this years 1st round pick and next years 1st round pick with the Detroit Lions IF the Raiders don’t take Calvin Johnson. I would then take Calvin Johnson. Johnson and Vince Young would then go on to be the next Jerry Rice and Steve Young. The greatest QB-WR tandem in NFL history.
Now it’s your turn to play GM on draft day.

I would go with Robert Meachem. He runs a 4.4 40, is a local which is a huge plus, has great size, and can catch almost anything. We don’t really have a “standout” WR right now so I think if we take Meachem and we still have Brandon Jones with Givens coming back by mid summer and a couple of mediocre WR’s such as Williams and Roby we’ll have a pretty decent WR core and give some “great” targets for Vince Young.

There is absolutely NO way the Titans get Calvin Johnson. By the points system that NFL teams use it would take this year’s whole draft and next years 1st and second, agreed he would be the best player for the team but not at that price. I think we hold out hope for one of the big defensive ends (Carriker and Anderson). If they are gone try to drop down a couple of spots and pick up a WR (anyone but Ginn) Meachem or Bowe. A lot of people are saying grab Ginn but I see him as a poor man’s Peter Warrick who didn’t have much of a run in the NFL.

I would choose a cornerback like Revis, Houston or Ross. This draft is deep with wide receivers. We could possibly get S. Rice from South Carolina in the second round.

I sense a common theme. Sounds like the majority want the Titans to go defense and hope WR is left in the 2nd round. I spoke with Floyd Reese today and he sounded like the Titans will go defense with the 19th pick. I’m sorry I just don’t see how you can not draft a WR at 19. Vince Young needs somebody to throw to.

Chris I am not saying the Titans don’t need weapons for Vince they do (BADLY). What I am saying is the Titans had the worst defense in the NFL last year and a strong pass rushing defensive end can go a long way in hiding the problems of the rest of the def. that won’t all be corrected with this draft.

Voljoe,
I agree with what a good DE can do. I just don’t want to see Vince fall apart because he’s trying to do it all. Maybe the Titans will get lucky and Lendale White will turn into a All-Pro. I don’t think he will, but you never know. Last time I checked a steady diet of Dippin’ Dots is not what Stud RB’s eat.

If I could be GM and things aligned just so…
First round - CB: Leon Hall will probably be gone, so Darrelle Revis (Pitt) or Aaron Ross (Texas). Ross would be offer the added benefit of punt/kick returner.
Second round - WR: Steve Smith (USC) or Jason Hill (Wash St.). Character rumors about Sidney Rice concern me.
Third round – DE: Ray McDonald (Florida) , Daniel Bazin (Central Mich) or Jay Moore (Neb). Each can get into the backfield and has a good motor.

I think we draft a bunch of guys with moustache’s like one certain Tennessee Titan coach. Because we know with a moustache you are going to get some good hard nosed players.
Hard nosed players who love to shop at Kroger.
Thanks a lot, ummm, Kroger.
