Time to step up and keep the Preds in Nashville…..

This past season the Preds averaged a little over 13,800 fans a game. That’s less than 200 of the 14,000 they’ll need if Craig Leipold invokes an attendance clause for next season. If the number is met the Preds will stay for at least seven more years. A new NHL rule says a new owner cannot move the team for 7 years. If the number is under 14,000 the relocation rule is null and void thanks to the lease agreement the Preds have with the city, and the Preds can leave.

It really doesn’t matter who owns the team…… It is time for everybody to quit pointing fingers and get this done. If a few local companies buy a dozen season tickets each for their employees and/or clients, and 100 or so fans buy season tickets this should be a done deal.

It will take around 8 thousand more tickets sold for the entire season to keep the team in Nashville. As Craig Leipold said today “that’s peanuts”.

Ask Baltimore or Cleveland fans what it is like to lose a professional franchise……..

It STINKS! Let’s all do our part in keeping this great game in Nashville.

Here we go again with the guilt thing.Even if they stay for another seven years do you actually think there will be a change in interest for hockey in this town? This was their best season yet and still couldn’t get the support needed. Comparing the loss of a NHL team to the loss of a NFL team is like comparing prunes to apples. They are not in the same league as far as importance to the city. If I am the new owner I make a business decision and that would be to move where I can be successful and time has shown that hockey in this area is not going to be a major draw. I do not think Nashville losing a hockey team is going to set it back as much as people think. It is a 2nd tier sport with a very limited fan base and for me I do not want my tax dollars going to bail out a business that can not support itself. My company bought 10 season tickets for employees when the Predators first came here and after the first 2 or 3 years they quit buying them because nobody would use them and I think that is probably why they have lost a lot of their corporate support. Face it this is not a NHL area so get over it!!!

    Bill,

You get over it. Do you know what it is like to go to high school and grow peach fuzz on your upper lip? And the girls won’t even give you a second glance. Then once you get into college and into the real world, you are able to grow a Tom Selleck Moustache and the girls who blew you off in high school want to be your buddy then. But I am not going to fall for it. Like I have said before, name me someone with a moustache who has gotten into trouble lately. DO IT BILL! You can’t the fact remains that the prickly prine on the top lip, makes the ladies melt and I think that is the real story Bill, you can’t make them melt anymore. Now if you have a moustache, a thousand apologies. But to call a goatee and a moustache the same thing, you have problems my friend, real problems.

Hey Coach….When you come down off that high your on from what ever drug your taking maybe you should write something that makes some sense because I have no idea what your referring to with the goatee/moustache story! WEIRD to say the least!

Bill, you just need to back down. You don’t care if the Preds go, others like me do. It’s people like you who bring negativity to the media and that’s why we are in this situation right now. If the Titans were to leave, you would be fighting for them to stay. So let the Predator fans do the same. You could show a little support or say nothing at all.

    SAVE THE PREDS!

    Sarah…
With all due respect. If the truth hurts then I am sorry but that is the reality of the situation.
Also as for the Titans I could care less …I’m a COLTS fan!!

    Bill,

Ever seen a guy with a moustache get into trouble? If Craig Leipold had a moustache, or our spineless mayor Bill Purcell, had a moustache, the Preds would not be leaving. I think you are playing the race card when it comes to people and their moustache’s, discriminating on a certain group because they have moustaches.

Grow up Bill, take your carpetbagging and your clean shaven face and beat it.
