LADY VOLS SOFTBALL EARNS BERTH INTO TITLE GAME
No. 1 and fifth-seeded Tennessee’s (62-6) perfect roll through the Women’s College World Series continued in front of 6,949 fans at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium on Sunday afternoon as the Lady Vols defeated No. 6 and second-seeded Northwestern (52-13), 3-0, to secure the program’s first ever berth in the WCWS Championship Series.
The Lady Vols have finished 3rd in the national tournament the past two years and will open their best of 3 series against Arizona on Monday night at 7 o’clock Nashville time. Tennessee beat Arizona 1 to nothing in their 2nd game in the tournament.
