Here We Go Again!
Here we go again sports fans. College coaches quitting, getting fired or resigning, some for the obvious reasons, some not so obvious reasons.
Ed Orgeron at Ole Miss? That guy was a complete joke. Sure David Cutcliffe wasn’t Mr. Excitement but they went to bowl games 5 out of 6 years he was there and Coach O never went to any.
Houston Nutt? As I was told, 50 percent of Arkansas fans love him, 50 percent despise him. The latter won out. Of course Nutt did not help himself with the whole text messaging problem he went thru and losing two top recruits, but his winning percentage was .610. In the words of Tommy Callahan, not to shabby!
Oh yes, where are all of those people yelling for Phil Fulmer to step down? Exactly, buying tickets to the SEC Championship game on Saturday.
Les Miles? See ya, have fun at Michigan and get ready to take a cut in pay. He is a goner.
So get ready to hear the names Bo Pellini, Turner Gill, Jimbo Fisher and Will Muschamp, who almost had the MTSU job until they hired Rick Stockstill two years ago, who I hear is on the short list to become the coach at Duke.
My take is that Muschamp goes to Ole Miss, Jimbo Fisher to Georgia Tech, where the AD worked with Fisher at LSU for years, Pellini might get the LSU job and Turner Gill will probably get Nebraska.
Then again, who really knows. But keep a close eye on Rick Stockstill folks. The job he has done at MTSU is nothing short of spectacular and for that team to go 5-7 when they were playing 4th string guys in some places, is a coaching gem.
