Trust Me, I'm Fine
It’s funny the Titans lose 59-0 and get the same quesiton over and over again from friends, family and co-workers, “Are you OK?” I’m here to tell the world I AM FINE! I don’t mean to sound unsympathetic, but folks this is my job. I love football, I enjoy covering the Titans, but whether they win or lose my job remains the same, report what happened.
It is what seperates reporters from fans, we can not get emotional and we have to stay objective. No we are not robots and sure, I feel bad for them, but as they say “the show must go on”.
While I’m at it let me clear something else up, it is not the media’s job to get a coach or coaches fired. It is our job to present the facts and enough information for the viewer to make an educated decision for themself on what should happen.
Sure, we ask some difficult questions along the way, but we try to answer the questions you at home have and after this game it was simple “will coach Fisher be fired?” Was it fun to ask? No. Did he know it was coming? Of course he did. Jeff Fisher’s been around the block, his players too and while it’s not any fun for any of them they will survive. What they do next on the field, well, that’s up to them.
